Electronic Tearsheets Program (eTears)
The AWNA uses an electronic process for collecting tearsheets and invoicing clients. The system allows for quick turnaround in providing tearsheets and invoices to our clients.
How does it Work?
Within twenty-four hours of publication, each of our member newspapers uploads their entire edition as PDF documents to the AWSOM Digital Archive. The AWSOM Digital Archive is operated and managed, on behalf of its participants, by the AWNA. The digital archive is searched, using a proprietary technique, allowing the tearsheeting staff to quickly and accurately locate an advertisement in as many publications in which it ran that week.
After collecting and verifying both advertisement and invoicing, the AWNA sends clients an automated email containing a secure, unique link to the completed tearsheet package and a copy of the in voice for this insertion order. The included secure, unique link allows the client's billing department to also connect to our eTearsheet database.
The eTearsheet database allows clients to review and save the documents that make up a completed Insertion Order. This includes a copy of the invoice and copies of each of the tearsheets themselves. All documents are PDFs that can be viewed, saved, search or printed on most computers.
Is it as Good as Paper?
Each PDF page collected for your eTearsheet package is reviewed and managed in the same vigorous workflow as our paper tearsheet package. The AWNA is now able to use digital measurement to ensure correct material size in addition to the numerous other verification techniques we use.
If for any reason the PDF may not be accurately reflecting the printed edition, the order will be reviewed using the printed edition received on a scheduled basis from each newspaper. Additionally, every ad on a colour buy will be verified using the print edition.
The electronic tearsheeting process is an efficient, reliable and expedient method for the AWNA to collect tearsheets, verify them and deliver them promptly to with the invoice and any other supporting documents.
